WHAT MAKES THIS RACE UNIQUE
- Bring your dog. Seriously. Register your pet for $10 and they run the race with you. This isn't a "leave the leash at home" 5K — this is a parade of pups, pet costumes encouraged, and a dedicated pet costume contest with raffle prizes for the winners.
- Every dollar saves animals from euthanasia. Proceeds fund Barky Pines Animal Rescue — a Loxahatchee sanctuary saving dogs that would otherwise be euthanized at the county shelter. You're running so they don't have to be put down.
- Barky's finest adoptables are on-site. Show up early and meet adoptable pets ready to go home with you. You came for a 5K. You might leave with a dog.
- Three ways to run — timed, fun, or virtual. Chase a PR in the timed 5K, take it easy on the Fun Run/Walk with your pup, or knock it out virtually from anywhere. Plus a DJ, emcee, raffle prizes, sponsor booths, and a pet costume contest waiting at the finish.
RACE HISTORY
Now in its 8th year, the Puppy Love 5K is the signature fundraiser for Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary in Loxahatchee — a Valentine's weekend run-and-walk where dogs are the guests of honor, costume contests are the main event, and every entry pushes Barky Pines closer to its mission of rescuing animals that would otherwise be euthanized.
