WILDSIDE SERVICE
Race Course Road Closures, Coning & Traffic Control
Closing a road for a race isn't just dropping cones and hoping for the best. It requires a plan, the right equipment, and a crew that knows what they're doing before the first runner steps on course.
Wildside handles the full scope of race course traffic control — from MOT planning and road closure permitting to coning, barricades, and day-of setup and breakdown. All traffic control plans meet FDOT and MUTCD standards, so your permits clear and your course is compliant. You get one team managing all of it, so nothing falls through the cracks between vendors.
If your race touches a public road, we've done this before. We know what municipalities require, how to get it approved, and how to execute it clean on race morning.
SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS
We close roads in all 50 states
Most event managmeent companies stop at their state border. Wildside doesn't. We handle road closures and permitting nationwide — all 50 states. Florida, New York, Texas, California, anywhere, we can make it happen.
THE PROCESS
1. MOT Plan & Permitting — Before anything goes on the road, we build your Maintenance of Traffic plan and coordinate road closure permits with the relevant city or county. We handle the paperwork, you focus on the race.
2. Course Setup — Our crew arrives 3 hours early and places cones, barricades, and signage exactly where they need to be. Every closure point. Every turn. Every merge back to open traffic.
3. Race Day Management — We're on-site for the duration. If something shifts, a car gets through, a barricade moves, a course adjustment is needed, we handle it in real time.
4. Breakdown & Clearance — Once your last finisher crosses and the road is ready to reopen, we break everything down and clear the course. Clean handoff back to the city.
FAQs ON OUR SERVICES
Do I need an MOT plan for my race?
If your course crosses or closes any public road, yes — most Florida municipalities require a formal Maintenance of Traffic plan before they'll issue a road closure permit. Wildside builds and submits that plan as part of our service.
Can you handle courses with multiple road closures?
Yes. Whether you have one intersection or a multi-mile closure through a city grid, we design the traffic control layout to match your specific course.
