WHAT MAKES THIS RACE UNIQUE
- It sells out. Every year. This race fills its 700-runner cap and shuts the gates. No race-day registration. If you're not signed up early, you're not running.
- It's the Butterfly Run. Coconut Creek is the "Butterfly Capital of the World" — home to Butterfly World, the largest butterfly park on the planet. This race owns that identity. Butterfly attire encouraged. Show up dressed for the part.
- Tradewinds Park is the backdrop. 2,000 acres of one of Broward's biggest county parks. Shaded paths, lakes, wide open space. One of the prettiest 5K courses in the county.
- City pride on the line. Top 3 overall male and female plus 1st male and female Coconut Creek resident. If you live here, this is your shot to claim the city.
RACE HISTORY
The Coconut Creek 5K Butterfly Run is the City's official community 5K hosted by Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation that has grown into one of the area's most beloved early-February traditions, selling out year after year at Tradewinds Park for 24 years!
