WHAT MAKES THIS RACE UNIQUE
- It's a Reggae Run. The whole 5K is a vibe. Live reggae music, mouthwatering Jamaican cuisine, and vibrant island energy from start to finish. More than a race — it's a cultural celebration that just happens to start with 3.1 miles.
- Every dollar funds clinics in Jamaica. Proceeds support Jamaica's Ministry of Health Adopt-A-Clinic Initiative — strengthening healthcare access in underserved Jamaican communities. Founded by the Consul General of Jamaica himself. Real cause, real impact.
- A whole post-race party, not just a finish line. Race goes off at 7 AM and the celebration runs from 10 AM to noon. Jamaican food, reggae music, finisher medals, family-friendly energy. Run, walk, dance — catch the vibe.
RACE HISTORY
The Jamaica Hi-5 5K Run was founded by Consul General Oliver Mair to raise critical funds for Jamaica's Ministry of Health Adopt-A-Clinic Initiative. What started as a community effort has grown into one of South Florida's most anticipated Caribbean-inspired wellness events — operated by the Jamaica Hi5 Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) — bringing serious runners, casual walkers, and families together every May at Miramar Regional Park to celebrate Jamaican culture, community, and the power of healthcare access. 1,900+ participants and growing fast. The 2026 event drew 1,924 runners — one of the largest Caribbean-inspired races in South Florida. You're not running a niche event. You're running a movement.
