WHAT MAKES THIS RACE UNIQUE
- You fund breast and heart health for at-risk women. Every dollar fuels The Women's Breast & Heart Initiative — early detection, health education, care coordination, and patient navigation for at-risk women, college students, and low-income populations. Most charity races pick one cause. This one funds the two leading causes of women's mortality at once.
- Three ways to show up — Run, Walk, or Virtual. Chase a PR with the timed 5K Run, walk it with the family, or knock it out from anywhere with the virtual option. There is no version of "I can't make it" that holds up.
- Emceed by an Emmy-nominated TV news anchor. Constance Jones, Emmy-nominated NBC 6 News Anchor, takes the mic on race morning. Live music, DJ, sponsor giveaways, opening ceremony at 6:45 AM. The race is the centerpiece of a full community morning.
- Fundraise and earn special swag. Set up a personal fundraising page and unlock special swag at $50, $100, and beyond. Every dollar pushes The Women's Breast & Heart Initiative closer to its $100,000 goal — and you walk away with the gear to prove you showed up.
RACE HISTORY
The Pink Walk is the signature annual fundraiser of The Women's Breast & Heart Initiative — a non-profit dedicated to transforming and saving lives by providing at-risk women, college students, and low-income populations with the resources to beat the odds of breast cancer and heart disease. Now in its 10th year and presented at a new home at Miami Dade College's Kendall Campus, the race brings the South Florida community together every September to fund grassroots services in early detection, health education, care coordination, and patient navigation.
